Once again Britney Spears is on the top celebrity news. This time her sister dragged her into the spotlight. Her 16-year-old sister “Zoey 101″ star, Jamie Lynn Spears, has gotten pregnant with her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Well premarital and teen pregnancy is not a new thing these days but when it happens to a celebrity or a relative of a celebrity the news flashes like a fire in the forest. To tell you the fact, I kind of liked the story about the pregnancy and how Spears decided to raise the kid. I hope same thing won’t happen in near future. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old “Zoey 101″ star and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine that she’s pregnant and that the father is her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.
“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” she said. “I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
Spears is 12 weeks along and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.
What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex? “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait,” she told the magazine. “But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
After she found out from a doctor that she was pregnant, she said, “I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody.”
“Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me,” she said.
Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reported.
“She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all,” Spears said. “A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney’s young sons, told the magazine: “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
She said her actress daughter, the telegenic heroine of her popular Nickelodeon series, has known Aldridge for years and began dating him in high school.
But in a recent interview with The Associated Press, Spears said she had no steady boyfriend. “I kind of just keep my options open,” she said. “I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends.” She declined to talk about her older sister.
Spears spoke to the AP shortly before Thanksgiving, the day she told OK! she informed her mother about the pregnancy.
Jamie Lynn plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana — “so it can have a normal family life.”
Nickelodeon released a statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”
A publicist for the network did not immediately respond to phone and e-mail requests for additional comment.
“Zoey 101″ is scheduled to conclude its third season Jan. 4 with a cliffhanger episode in which Spears’ character must decide whether to leave her fictional Pacific Coast Academy boarding school in California to join her parents in London.
The show is scheduled to resume in February, and its producer, Dan Schneider, has said filming on the fourth season has already been completed.

What difference is there in an 18 year old penis and a 40 year old penis ? A penis is a penis ! If the two have CONSENSUAL SEX, it isn’t the states or the feds God Damn business one way or the other !

It is sad that her poor decision making has been supported, and she coddled, by Nickelodean. My three daughters cannot believe she is pregnant and has been living with her boyfriend at the age of 16. This family is disfunctional and has reflected the same on the company that supports her. I am not a bible thumper but morales in the media are non-existant. Just another disappointment for my daughters. We reflect on how they DONT want to be like the idles that the media continue to push on the public. It is my desperate hope the Miley Cyrus is watching this and doesnt think it is ok to live with her boyfriend at the age of 16 and get pregnant. I dont think her father and/or mother would allow such behavior and, in turn, Miley would not be put into a situation that would allow and condon this behavior.

Teen pregnancy is very common in the real world. I guess it is okay since she is a celebrity. They need to find something more important to talk about than her being pregnant. They are probably going to take this child’s show away from her. Talk about that! She needs money to support her baby.

She may need the money to take care of her baby, she really needs someone who can guide her in the right direction. If you have no examples from her mother and sister all the money in the world will not help. You would think will all the money that she has been able to make she could have purchased some birht control or at least see a doctor.

Ok, so obviously people either don’t remember what it was like to be 16 or don’t have children. Kids are going to be kids. They do what they want to do. Obviously there will be some mistakes in growing up. Who the hell are you to judge a child for making a mistake. At least she is living up to her mistake and doing the right thing. And I don’t think anyone on this damn blog is going to buy her child 1 diaper so why do you care. She is growing. That is what happens. Why ruin her career because of her personal life? She is human. This is why America is so messed up now. We push eachother so far down that it is impossible to resurface. Don’t hold this girl to the example her sister has set. She is her own person and she isn’t asking any one of you to help her.

answer to q:
I know kids are kids and they do whatever they want to, but what are parents for? They are suppose to take care of their kids, I guess. And if you or I or the community keep on supporting them, I am pretty much sure in some years ahead there will be kids growing up kids. There is also no guarantee that the kid’s kid would be a healthy one and that the mother kid would be healthy after this teen pregnancy…. well enough of the kid discussion but I didn’t wanna offend anyone but to rather present my views and to notify the teens to beware and not to make further mistakes as Spears did.
