Nepali people currently have some sign of relief since the NEA authority has decreased load-shedding schedule from 14 hours per day to 11 hours per day. Nepali people are really unfortunate as Nepal being world’s second highest hydro-resource country in the world is undergoing such heavy load-shedding on a daily basis for more than a decade now. I don’t know whose fault is it, NEA (Nepal Electricity Authority) for underestimating hydropower dams or the ever changing government of our country or us, customer, ourselves.
We have suffered around 18 hours per day of load-shedding some years back so 14 hours per day seems quite fair for now but this has really impacted the daily lives from the small family to the bigger companies. I am glad that they are reducing at least some hours for the students appearing for their SLC. What I am wondering is why are the Government giving priority to SLC while students still have to read in same school even after the SLC, as the government already have eliminated Intermediate courses in college. Then again even if SLC is prioritized, isn’t the higher level education like Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree be of less importance? Shouldn’t it be more focused and shouldn’t they decrease the scheduled load-shedding time in the hour of exam of such high degree of education?
