Music Chat Rooms

You can find lots of social networking websites these days. There are lots of popular ones which have lots of members across the world and they have lots of different categories and sections in them where the members discuss and writes their feelings as a blog post or forum threads of chats with the other members with the same kind of interest. That is what most of the social networking websites are mostly about, just sharing your interests and creating your profile as well. Well I haven’t come across with the music specific social networking website until now.

I just came across a site which is quite popular for their music chat rooms. The name of the site is Idolme.com. They have been online from May of 2005. Originally they started as a forum to discuss music and reality shows, but with the growing popularity of social networking sites they soon took the shape to the social networking site which basically has members interested in music, friends, and other general discussion. The site now mainly has the focus on the music artists and there are lots of members across the globe discussing about their favorite music artists. The website also has one unique category where they have created a page for the different famous artists. For example, if you are a fan of Chris Cummings, and if you visit the specific page related to Chris Cummings, you will find his biography, with the list of the songs, MP3, and videos of him. So you can learn a lot about your favorite artists with the website as well. I am sure if you become a member as well you will learn a lot about your favorite music artist and you can make friends with the other members across the globe and share your common interest with them and have lots of other discussions related to the music.

It was 9 p.m. yesterday and my mom was in my room to watch one of the popular television reality show in Sony Entertainment television. The name of the show was Indian Idol. It was season III for the TV show, and yesterday it was the grand finale where one of the contestant amongst two will be the winner and will become the Indian Idol for this season at Delhi, India. The show has been on for two months now and one after another the number from 1000s came to final two. They were Amit Paul from Shillong and Prashant Tamang from Darjeeling.

It was about 11 p.m. so I got online from my computer. One of my dearest friends, Neeti Sawarthia, was online, so we were chatting. I just asked her if she was watching the Indian Idol Show as well. She answered, No. She then told me, “Don’t you know that the results are out? Prashant won.” I just thought she might be kidding around. She then gave me a url and when I opened it. It really was on that page that Prashant won the competition. I had no answer about this news. I mean they were saying it was a live show but there was no live show sign logo either. So after midnight they finally announced it, same way written on that page.

Prashant is 24-year-old constable in Kolkata Police who is originally from a Nepali family in Darjeeling, India. Since he was in Indian Idol he has gained a lot of popularity and support from Nepali-speaking community inside India and Nepal. One of the hosts of the show, Hussain, announced that they received 70 million votes breaking all the past records. The winner was to be announced with the most voting gained during the past 10 days through SMS and phone votes. The Indian Bollywood superstar, John Abraham, raised the hand of Prashant Tamang declaring him as the winner of Indian Idol.

Whole India celebrated the winning of Prashant, and mostly all the Nepali people were enjoying it will full of joy and excitement. I heard a big crowd of people screaming as soon as they announced the winner even at Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Dharan and other places of Nepal. Prashant Tamang has now won Indian Rs. 10 million worth music contract with Sony Television and a brand new car. I am sure future has much to offer to the new Indian Idol who is a Nepali guy. Best of luck and Congrats to Prashant Tamang.

Here is another great and most popular song and video of Bryan Adams for the film Don Juan DeMarco. This song is featured both on the soundtrack and on the Bryan’s album, 18 Til I Die. This is a perfect love story and the song is just perfectly visualized and the just fits for the movie itself. The song itself is so deep and listening and watching this video clips just enhances the song and the video clips of the movie. As for the request of my readers, once again, I have attached the lyrics with the video in here. Enjoy!!!

Lyrics

To really love a woman
To understand her – you gotta know it deep inside
Hear every thought – see every dream
N’ give her wings – when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
Ya know ya really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You’ve gotta breathe her – really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N’ when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
Ya know ya really love a woman

When you love a woman
you tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her
that you’ll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith – hold her tight
A little tenderness – gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin’ good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman…

Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
Ya know ya really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?

The video was just too good to be true and it really matches this song. When you love someone, you do any thing, you do crazy things… Superman turned around the world by spinning around the world to save his loved one. Watch this beautifully featured video and enjoy the song with the lyrics below and sing along, “When you love someone – you’ll do anything”.

Lyrics

When you love someone – you’ll do anything
You’ll do all the crazy things that you can’t explain
You’ll shoot the moon – put out the sun
When you love someone

You’ll deny the truth – believe a lie
There’ll be times that you’ll believe you can really fly
But your lonely nights – have just begun
When you love someone

When you love someone – you’ll feel it deep inside
And nothin else can ever change your mind
When you want someone – when you need someone
When you need someone…

When you love someone – you’ll sacrifice
You’d give it everything you got and you won’t think twice
You’d risk it all – no matter what may come
When you love someone
You’ll shoot the moon – put out the sun
When you love someone

I don’t know if there is any song of Bryan Adams which I don’t like. Whenever I am in a romantic mood or whenever I feel depressed or miss someone important in my life, I just listened to his songs and it just cools my mind and makes me feel easy. He has that magic in his voice that really touches hearts of millions. This song is one of those magic he created. I have been listening to his songs for couple of decades now, and no matter how many times I listened to it, I never get enough. Heaven is one of my all time favorite song as well. I have listened 100s of times and yet I get the same feeling of calmness every time I listen to it. I hope you will enjoy it too.

Lyrics

Oh – thinkin’ about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Now nothin’ can take you away from me
We bin down that road before
But that’s over now
You keep me comin’ back for more

Baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lyin’ here in my arms
I’m findin’ it hard to believe
We’re in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven

Oh – once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you’re feelin’ down

Ya – nothin’ could change what you mean to me
Oh there’s lots that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way

N’ baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lyin’ here in my arms
I’m findin’ it hard to believe
We’re in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven

I’ve bin waitin’ for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along

Now our dreams are comin’ true
Through the good times and the bad
Ya – I’ll be standin’ there by you

Lyrics

Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn’t stop the pain

If I see you next to never
How can we say forever

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times
That I though would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can’t get near you now

Oh, can’t you see it baby
You’ve got me goin’ CrAzY

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I’m with you
I’ll take the chance

Oh, can’t you see it baby
You’ve got me goin’ cRaZy

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

A lot of my readers and friends have been asking me to post something about Bryan Adams. They wanted to see some videos and lyrics with it in my blog. I just thought I would upload the videos by myself but since it is available in Youtube.com, I thought of simply embedding the videos here with the lyrics. I am as well a huge fan of Bryan Adams, and I had written some posts about him in the past, so it has touched most of my readers and lots of them keep on coming back for other songs by Bryan Adams, but I haven’t posted any so they started commenting me personally to post something of him. So today, I am going to post a lot of videos of Bryan Adams with the lyrics in my blog.

First one is my and most of all the fans of Bryan’s all time favorite song called Everything I Do (I Do It For You).

Lyrics

Look into my eyes – you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart – search your soul
And when you find me there you’ll search no more

Don’t tell me it’s not worth tryin’ for
You can’t tell me it’s not worth dyin’ for
You know it’s true
Everything I do – I do it for you

Look into your heart – you will find
There’s nothin’ there to hide
Take me as I am – take my life
I would give it all – I would sacrifice

Don’t tell me it’s not worth fightin’ for
I can’t help it – there’s nothin’ I want more
Ya know it’s true
Everything I do – I do it for you

There’s no love – like your love
And no other – could give more love
There’s nowhere – unless you’re there
All the time – all the way yeah

(background quiet)
To your heart baby

Oh – you can’t tell me it’s not worth tryin’ for
I can’t help it – there’s nothin’ I want more
I would fight for you – I’d lie for you
Walk the wire for you – ya I’d die for you

Ya know it’s true
Everything I do – oooww – I do it for you

Gloomy Sunday – The Suicide Song!

There have been many debates and still it is yet unknown to me if this really is the song that killed so many people. Personally, I find nothing in this song that would actually lead a normal person to commit suicide. The old soundtrack by Billie Sunday had a ghostly music though. I do find the song with some emotions but it is not that much deep to actually kill a person. I have listened to this song so many times and there are so many singers who have actually sung this song with so many versions. As of yet, I find none of them singing so deeply that would actually kill me. They say it is the lyrics but I have transcribed the lyrics too but yet no suicidal effects whatsoever.

I have collected something about the song from the net and pasted below. Enjoy!

“Gloomy Sunday” (from Hungarian “Szomorú Vasárnap”, IPA: ['somoru? 'v??arn?p]) is a song written by the Hungarian self-taught pianist and composer Rezs? Seress in 1933. According to urban legend, it inspired hundreds of suicides. When the song was first marketed in the United States, it became known as the “Hungarian suicide song”. There is no systematic substantiation for such claims, as it is not documented where any such allegations appear in press coverage or other publications of the time.

Numerous versions of the song have been recorded and released. Michael Brooks wrote in the program notes for the 10-CD set, “Lady Day” – the Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia, 1933-1944:

“Gloomy Sunday reached America in 1936 and, thanks to a brilliant publicity campaign, became known as The Hungarian Suicide Song. Supposedly after hearing it, distraught lovers were hypnotized into heading straight out of the nearest open window, in much the same fashion as investors after October, 1929; both stories are largely urban myths.”

The English lyrics (which reportedly don’t do justice to the original Hungarian) go something like this:
Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless.
Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless.
Little white flowers will never awaken you,
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you.
Angels have no thought of ever returning you.
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday.

Gloomy is Sunday; with shadows I spend it all.
My heart and I have decided to end it all.
Soon there’ll be candles and prayers that are sad, I know.
Death is no dream, for in death I’m caressing you.
With the last breath of my soul I’ll be blessing you.
Gloomy Sunday.
On to the legends:

  1. 1. Up to seventeen suicides were purportedly linked in some way to the song “Gloomy Sunday” in Hungary before the song was (allegedly) banned. These “links” included people who reportedly killed themselves after listening to the song (either from a recording or performed by a band), or who were said to have been found dead with references to “Gloomy Sunday” (and/or its lyrics) in their suicide notes, with “Gloomy Sunday” sheet music in their hands, or with “Gloomy Sunday” playing on gramophones.

I don’t know how any of these claims could be verified short of paging through old Hungarian newspapers; even then, it would be difficult at this late date to separate exaggerated and fabricated reports from true ones. I suspect that this portion of the legend is trivially true, a combination of Hungary’s historically high suicide rate and the assumption of a causal — rather than a coincidental — relationship between the song and suicides that caused rumors and media reports to be greatly exaggerated.

Hungary has had the highest suicide rate of any country for many years (as high as 45.9 per 100,000 people in 1984), so a few dozen suicides there over a year’s time certainly wouldn’t have been unusual, even in 1936. Nor is it at all uncommon for suicides to work something from popular songs or books or films into their deaths. Only when one particular song was coincidentally linked to a sufficient number of suicides to draw attention to all the suicides in which it played a part did people start to claim that it was somehow the cause of these deaths.

  2. Many claims are made about the reaction to “Gloomy Sunday” by Hungarian authorities, from “discouraging” public performance of the song to an outright ban on it. I have found no reliable information about when, where, or by whom this song might have been banned in one form or another. My guess, based on similar legends (such as the claim that Donald Duck was banned in insert Scandinavian country of choice), would be that some Hungarian municipalities may have instituted some types of (possibly voluntary) restrictions on the song, but that there was no nation-wide ban on “Gloomy Sunday.”
  3. The claims about American reaction to the song are even wilder. Some sources claim that no “Gloomy Sunday”-inspired suicides were reported in the USA at all, while others attribute cases of suicide (up to “200 worldwide”) in both the USA and Britain to the English-language version of “Gloomy Sunday” (including “young jazz fans” who became depressed after hearing Billie Holiday’s version of the song). Likewise, while some sources say that there were no restrictions whatsoever placed on the song in the USA, others claim that it was “banned from the airwaves.” (Sometimes the ban is said to have been directed at a particular version of the song, such as Billie Holiday’s recording of it.) Some sources even claim that a sort of “compromise” ban was enacted as many radio stations played only the instrumental version of the song.
  4. The “girlfriend who inspired the song committed suicide” claims sounds like an embellishment of the basic legend, as I only found one source that mentioned it. It claimed that Javor “wrote the song for a former girlfriend,” and that shortly after its release she committed suicide and left behind a note reading simply “Gloomy Sunday.”
  5. Rezso Seress did indeed commit suicide, jumping from a Budapest building in 1968. This portion of the legend also appears to have been embellished, with some sources claiming that he was depressed because he’d never been able to produce another hit after “Gloomy Sunday.”
Below is the song Gloomy Sunday – Billie Sunday Version

This might be scary version though with the different lyrics as well. I find it pretty funny but scary with the instructions. Watch and enjoy but don’t commit suicide after you watch it.lol!

I have been listening to old songs of one of my favorite Canadian rock singer, Bryan Adams, and I had forgotten most of the visual clips of his songs. So I hopped into youtube.com and tried to find out some visual clips of his old songs. I always loved his songs and the video choreography of his songs are as good as his songs. Suddenly I remembered the song Cloud #9 has one of the coolest visuals. It is filmed in the whitish background with all the clothes, the girl, the refrigerator, the milk inside it, everything in the video is white. It is pretty cool choreography. You have to look at the song to see the beauty of its visual concept and the sweetness of the song.

Lots of my friends have been suggesting me to write something about music and since Bryan Adams is my all time favorite singer, I thought of writing this post and I am sure all of the readers out there will enjoy this post with the video and lyrics available right here in the same page. So enjoy guys and girls!!!

Lyrics of the song:

Clue number one was when you knocked on my door
Clue number two was the look that you wore
N thats when I knew, it was a pretty good sign
That something was wrong up on cloud number nine

Well its a long way up and we wont come down tonight
Well it may be wrong but baby it sure feels right

And the moon is out and the stars are bright
And whatever comes sgonna be alright
Cause tonight you will be mine – up on cloud number nine
And there aint no place that Id rather be
And we cant go back but youre here with me
Yeah, the weather is really fine – up on cloud number nine

Now he hurt you and you hurt me
And that wasnt the way it was supposed to be
So baby tonight lets leave the world behind
And spend some time up on cloud number nine

Well its a long way up and we wont come down tonight
Well it may be wrong but baby it sure feels right

Well we wont come down tonight
Ya we wont come down tonight
No we wont come down tonight

We can watch the world go by – up on cloud number nine
